App will alert parents when baby's poop is a concern

A new app is helping put a new parent’s mind at ease. It’s called PoopMD+.

The free app was developed by the John Hopkins Children’s Center to help advance pediatric liver disease research. It gathers information about infant stool color and offers guidance for parents.

The app uses color recognition software and the user’s phone camera to determine if your baby’s stool is normal or abnormal.

PoopMD+ is available on Android and Apple devices.
