A home invasion, carjacking and police chase

An unusual set of crimes in northeast Harris County tied together; a home invasion, carjacking and police chase ended with one man dead.  Precinct 4 deputies say It all started on Campbell road in Atascocita when a homeowner fired shots on a group of men trying to break into the home.

Shortly after, Houston Police began chasing a car. When three of the men bailed out, they questioned the driver. He told them he was kidnapped one street over from the home invasion The carjackers wanted him to drive them to the hospital because one of them had been shot That person was found dead in the backseat. Two of the three suspects who ran away are in custody. Police determined they are the same people who tried to break into the home.
