95-year-old widower learns to cook

- George Gelfars of Roslyn Heights, New York, has proven you're never too old to try something new. He is 95 and a self-proclaimed chef, thanks to Angela Andrews, a caseworker with the Family and Children's Association.

Once a week she visits George, a widower, as part of a program to help the elderly with everyday chores.

George's wife Florence did all of the cooking. After she passed away last year, he decided to become a master in the kitchen, making his favorite dish: salmon with sautéed onions, Brussels sprouts and sweet potato fries.

The World War II veteran served in the 77th Infantry of the U.S. Army, has three children and five grandchildren, and walks two miles a day.

On the menu for next week is chicken teriyaki, asparagus and white potatoes. George says he plans on hosting a dinner party to show his friends and family he really can cook!
