HOUSTON (FOX 26) - A Good Samaritan is dead after police say a drunk driver hit him. Last night, officers say a man driving a car hit a pickup truck on 59 near the cross timbers exit. The impact caused the car to cross to the other side of the freeway and hit a 31-year-old man who was in the emergency lane.
That man was helping fix a standard driver's broken-down truck. The driver of the car was rushed to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say he was drinking and is charged with intoxication manslaughter.
A 13-year-old boy is in the hospital this morning after he was hit by a pickup truck and the driver never stopped.
It happened last night in North Harris County on seven-mile lane and sunny.
Witnesses say the boy was walking with a friend when the 13-year-old was hit. He was conscious by the time he was rushed to the hospital. At last check, the teen was listed in critical condition.
A man charged with capital murder in a stabbing outside the galleria is also set to appear in court today. A judge has denied bond for 35-year-old Andre Roy.
Investigators say there's surveillance video showing Roy attacking and trying to rob a 61-year-old man.
This happened Thursday night on the sidewalk outside Nieman Marcus. Witnesses tried to intervene, but police say Roy had already stabbed the man.
