- One person is in police custody after saying he shot and killed someone in self-defense an HPD officer says he heard shots being fired late last night at Fondren and Harwin, and then saw a man fall to the ground. He followed a pickup driving away from the scene then pulled over the driver. Investigators are talking to witnesses and the shooter to figure out exactly what happened.

 

All public schools in a New Hampshire town are closed today due to a detailed threat of violence. Seventeen schools in total--from elementary to high school won't be in session. The threat was directed at two high schools in Nashua. State and federal officials continue to determine the credibility of this threat.

            Former president jimmy carter is mourning the sudden death of one of his grandson.

28-year-old Jeremy Carter passed away on Sunday. No word yet on his cause of death.

This announcement comes just two weeks after the 91 year-old carter announced he was cancer-free. Fireworks are now on sale for the Christmas and the new years season throughout our state.

While it is legal to buy fireworks in Harris County, you cannot have them inside Houston’s city limits.

            Most unincorporated areas do allow fireworks, but as always. Make sure you check your local laws.
