- The mother of a 19-month-old girl who police say was burned to death in an oven is expected to be court today. Last month, police say the child was left home alone with just her young siblings. Officers found Ja-zyra Thompson" severely burned next to a stove. Her mother and her mother's boyfriend are expected in court today.

 

Highway 6 near memorial drive has reopened after a man was killed trying to cross the road. Police say the man was hit by an SUV around midnight and died at the scene.

            The woman who hit him stopped and will not be facing charges.

The man accused of shooting a Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado Springs will appear in court by video link. Robert Lewis dear is accused of killing three people including a police officer. Investigators are not releasing a possible motive for the attack, but Planned Parenthood says witnesses suggest dear was motivated by opposition to abortion.

The national security agency will end its mass collection of American’s phone records that began under the patriot act.

            It comes two years after the bulk phone surveillance program was exposed by Edward Snowden.

            The program revealed who Americans were calling and when but not what they were saying.

            The white house says it will be replaced by a more tightly targeted and scaled-back system.
