5-year-old rushed to hospital after accidentally shooting himself in the face

HOUSTON (FOX 26) - The Harris County Sheriff's Department is investigating the accidental shooting of a 5-year-old boy.

Shortly after 5 pm, deputies were called to the 9700 block of Shady Tree Lane.

According to the Sheriff's Department, the 5-year-old accidentally shot himself in the face.

The child was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital, and his condition is unknown at this time. 

The shooting is under investigation.
