Investigators are trying to determine if alcohol was a factor in a deadly crash involving an 18-wheeler.  Police tell us around 2:30 this morning  the tractor-trailer truck was making a legal turn when a driver in a pickup truck ran a red light and slammed into the side of the 18-wheeler.  The impact sent the truck under the 18 wheeler and ripped off the roof. The woman driving the pick-up truck died at the scene.

An autopsy will be performed on a 14 year old student who collapsed and died in a parking lot at a Cleveland high school just north of Houston. Paramedics rushed the student to a nearby hospital Friday afternoon where he was pronounced dead.  The Cleveland ISD spokesperson says the student’s death is not related to athletics and there is no sign of foul play. The teen attended the middle school. A prayer was held at last night’s football game.

Doctors at UTMB in Galveston are treating a woman who was rescued from a cruise ship. The Coast Guard air lifted the 43 year old passenger from the Carnival Triumph about 115 miles off the coast. Medics believe she suffered a heart attack.
