HOUSTON, Texas (FOX 26) - Inside a quiet apartment complex in the 9001 block of Jones Rd. Harris County investigators piece together what happened sometime between Saturday night and early Sunday. They say a 911 call came in around 2:30 a.m.
"The nearby resident stated that it was a vacant residence and that no one should have been there so when he came out to walk his dog he saw that the door was open partially," says Sgt. Cedrick Collier.
The neighbor who witnessed everything wanted to keep his name private but told us what happened.
He says, "I just came outside to walk my dog and I just happened to notice as I came back up that the door was cracked open and I could see a persons feet."
After that he decided to go in to see if the man needed any help. "As soon as I pushed the door open to see if the person was alright and I asked them if they were okay or needed any assistance I got no response and I called 911, then they asked me to kind of take a step in and peek around to see what goes on and I looked in there and discovered the other body and I was like I'm not going any further because I don't know if there is anyone else in there".
Police could not tell us how the two men died, but that they had both appeared to have been murdered.
Sgt. Collier, "both appear to be adult males, it's still undetermined the age and the race of the individuals."
Although the witness says he didn't know the men, he says he feels for their families. "I'm very sorry for their loss and just wanted to let someone know they were thinking of them."
Anyone with information is asked to call the Harris County Sheriffs Office or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
