GALVESTON, Texas (FOX 26) - Galveston police have pulled all of the Ford Explorers in their fleet so they can be checked for carbon monoxide leaks. A total of 27 explorers are now out of service.
Galveston police say this will not affect operations, because they have plenty of other vehicles in service.
So far no officers have shown signs of carbon monoxide poisoning.
Last month, the Austin Police Department pulled all 400 of its Ford Explorers and Ford Utility Interceptors off the road.
Twenty officers in Austin tested positive for carbon monoxide in their blood.
