HOUSTON (FOX 26) - A group of men are now behind bars after a bank robbery turned into a police chase. HPD and other law enforcement agencies have also been conducting an investigation on those individuals, saying they are responsible for a spree of robberies and violence crimes in our area.
This all began when the suspects allegedly robbed the First Community Credit Union Bank on Cinco Ranch Blvd, then ended in the 1200 block of North Post Oak.
HPD has been conducting an investigation on these individuals and had information that led them to Katy, but before they could move in on the suspects they had already robbed the bank and fled the scene in multiple vehicles, authorities say.
Authorities conducted traffic stops and were able to detain two suspects. A chase ensued after another vehicle, which ended on North Post Oak Road. Four men tried to flee but one was injured while jumping out of the moving car and is now in the hospital. SWAT was called to the scene and officers arrested two other suspects a few hours later.
Police say a large amount of money was stolen from bank, but authorities have recovered it.
