Houstonians pay final tribute to radio legend and FOX 26 contributor, Matt Patrick

- Family, friends and fans will be paying tribute to Houston radio legend Matt Patrick later this morning at 10 a.m. at Second Baptist Church. The Houston radio personality and Fox 26 contributor lost his battle with esophogeal cancer this past weekend.  Patrick leaves behind his wife, Paula, his son, Jake and their two beautiful daughters, Alexandra Ryan and Alanna Ryan.  The funeral is a public memorial service for our beloved friend and colleague.

The Fort bend County Sheriff is scheduled to speak at the funeral ceremony, as well as his family and others who dearly loved and respected him.

FOX 26 asked Quanell X, the man Matt went head to head with nightly on fox 26, about what he'll miss most about his friend. "His family always came first. Matt was a big man about family. He wanted to spend as much time with his children and his wife. " Today's service is a public remembrance at Second Baptist Church West Campus--but there will be a private service and burial back in Matt's home state of Ohio. Rest in Peace, Matt Patrick. You will be dearly missed.
