WALLER COUNTY, Texas (FOX 26) - The Texas Rangers are investigating an allegation of sexual assault at the Waller County Jail. Waller County Sheriff's Department says they received a report on Friday that a female inmate was assaulted by a male inmate.
The sheriff's department released this statement about the investigation:
On Friday, March 17, the Waller County Jail staff received information that a female inmate had been sexually assaulted by a male inmate performing trustee type duties. An investigation is being conducted by the Waller County Sheriff's Office, Waller County's District Attorney's office and Texas Rangers are monitoring the investigation.

The district attorney's office has been made aware of an allegation of sexual assault in Waller County jail. The Texas Rangers have been asked to investigate the allegation and we have no further information that we are able to share at this time.
