Robbery suspect killed by off-duty deputy at Mongomery County Raising Cane's

- Montgomery County Sheriff's Department is investigating a robbery attempt that ended with a security officer fatally shooting the suspect.

It happened around 9 p.m. at a Raising Cane's in 1500 block of Research Forest Drive, Shenandoah, TX 77380

An deputy was working an extra security job at the Raising Canes where there had been a rash of robberies. The robbery suspect entered the restaurant and the deputy shot the suspect, killing him.

There were 2-3 workers who were grazed by bullets. They were transported with non life threatening injuries.

A Raising Cane's spokesperson released a statement regarding the attempted robbery:

The safety of our customers and crew is our top priority. Our restaurant will remain closed today as we focus on the well being of our Crewmembers.
