GALVESTON, Texas (FOX 26) - Two Katy residents are dead and two more are critically injured after a motorcycle accident in Galveston.
Elias Chavana, 33, and Patricia Delgado, 29, died on the scene.
The crash happened just after 10 p.m. on Seawall Boulevard. Galveston police say when they arrived on the scene they found Elias Chavana and Patricia Delgado unresponsive. They attempted CPR, but it was just too late. The driver of the motorcycle and a passenger were also injured, they are being treated at the John Sealy UTMB Medical Center.
Police say they are in critical condition.
Police say the Delgado and Chavana were attempting to cross the street in an area where there is not a crosswalk. They do not believe alcohol played a role in the accident.
"The outcome may very well have been different if they had used a crosswalk last night," said Joshua Schirard, a lieutenant for Galveston police.
More than 400,000 people are expected to be in Galveston for the Lone Star biker rally this weekend.
