BULLARD, Texas (FOX 26) - An Amber Alert was discontinued for 10-year-old Kayla Gomez-Orozco on Saturday night after Cherokee County Sheriff told Tyler-based KLTV that remains were found within two miles of the church where the girl was last seen.,
The body was discovered at a home in Bullard after someone submitted information to law enforcement officers, according to the KLTV report.
KLTV reports evidence was found on the property, which prompted investigators to get a warrant and search the area. That is where the remains were found.
An area of around 200 square feet is taped off as investigators work the scene.
The discovery of the remains follows a day of searching. The FBI organized a massive search, Saturday, that involved more than 800 volunteers combing 1,500 acres.
Investigators say they will stay on scene throughout the night and are working to get more search warrants.
Authorities say they will provide more details at a news conference on Sunday morning.
