Man accused of sexually abusing a child could have more victims

- He's the kind of guy nobody in his quiet Woodlands neighborhood can remember.  We couldn't find a single person on his street who remembers ever seeing Rodney Heath Smith, and maybe they're glad they don't.

“That's awful. That's disgusting," said Natalie Funes. "I never could’ve imagined that someone like that was living on our street because I grew up here my whole life.”

But Smith is someone his alleged victims will likely never forget. According to Precinct 3 deputy constables, his now 12-year-old victim says four years ago the family friend molested her.  Even though it happened so long ago, authorities believe her.

“When you are dealing with children this age, it takes them some time to process  these things,"  said Precinct 3 Constable’s Chief Matt Rodrigue.  "It's probably the most traumatic thing to happen in their lives so this isn't really that uncommon.”

We don't know all that much about Smith. We don't know what he did for a living but we do know what he didn't. He wasn't a teacher or a child care worker. And we do know this: he had access to other victims.

“He himself has children, so we're thinking with the interactions with his children this could've happened again.”  said Rodrigue.

As a matter of fact, they just pressed more charges against him for a second victim and they want to question a third. But they think he started molesting children as early as 2000 and there could be many more victims. Victims that will never forget Rodney Heath Smith, if the claims are all true.
