Sisters beg public for information on brother's 2015 shooting

- It has been nearly a year since two women lost their brother to a ruthless fatal shooting. Police were not able to find any suspects.

The women spoke exclusively to Fox 26, pleading with the public for any information that could help.

“I just remember waking up that morning to my mom screaming his name,” said Aleida Jimenez, the victim’s youngest sister.

HPD reported back then that around midnight on November 28th, 2015, 30-year-old Abel Jimenez had parked his car along Coral, near Ingrando Park in southeast Houston. Authorities said his murderer walked up to his maroon Toyota Corolla -- it's unclear whether they had a conversation -- and shot him several times. Jimenez died at the scene while his killer ran away.

His family says he loved them fiercely.

“Family get-togethers aren’t the same. Everything is different. They stole a piece of my heart. They stole a piece of all of our hearts,” said Anel Jimenez, the victim’s sister.

“He was very overprotective of all of us as sisters, and my mom too because that was his everything,” said Aleida Jimenez. “He was a really good person. He cared for his kids. He was always just a good father to them.”

The family is now hoping the the hole left by his death will be filled with a sense of peace by new information from the public.

If you have any information at all, please call Crime Stoppers (713) 521-4600.

There is a reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
