20-year-old fatally shoots father in freak accident in SE Houston

HOUSTON (FOX 26) - The Houston Police Department is investigating a shooting in southeast Houston.

Around 5:30 p.m. police were called to the 1500 block of Regal.

According to police, a 20-year-old man was vleaning a gun when it accidentally went off, hitting his 39-year-old father in the chest. He was pronounced dead on arrival.

There were other people present at the scene, but no other injuries have been reported.

The shooting has been ruled accidental. No charges have been filed as of now, but case will be referred to a grand jury.
