Funeral services for TCSO Sgt. Craig Hutchinson

Travis County Sheriff's Deputy Sgt. Craig Hutchinson will be laid to rest. Funeral services are set for Sgt. Hutchinson this morning as police continue to search for the suspects responsible for his death.

Sgt. Hutchsion was shot and killed last week during a burglary in his backyard in Round Rock. He worked for the department for more than 30 years and was set to retire in September.

Law enforcement officers from across the country will unite Shoreline Church to say goodbye to Sgt. Hutchinson.

On August 1, friends and family gathered for his visitation that was at the Cook-Walden Funeral Home on North Lamar. The Honor Guard stood on both sides of Sgt. Hutchinson's casket which will continue until his funeral.

The funeral begins at 10 a.m. and will be followed by a graveside service with police honors at Cook Walden-Capital Parks Cemetery.

Authorities want to remind everyone that there will be heavy traffic due to the processions. Drivers should expect delays between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Sgt. Hutchinson's body will be moved from Cook Walden Funeral Home on Lamar, near Koenig, beginning at 7 a.m. It will head to I-35 and travel north to Wells Branch then onto Burnet and stop for the funeral service at Shoreline Church on Burnet. 

After the funeral around 11 a.m. the procession will head from Shoreline Church on Burnet down MoPac to Parmer and then over to I-35. A graveside service with police honors will begin when the procession arrives at Cook Walden-Capital Parks Cemetery.

City buses may also be affected. Capital Metro says there could some delays on Routes 1, 320, 481 and 801 near the Cook Walden Funeral Home starting around 7 a.m. 

There's also expected delays for Routes 1, 142, 243, 275 and 801 in the Parmer Lane area near MoPac this afternoon.

CapMetro says if you're using any of those routes you should get to your bus stop early to offset the delays.
