Texas 10 Most Wanted sex offender arrested in Houston

- A convicted sex offender and Tango Blast Houstone gang member on the Texas 10 Most Wanted list has been captured in Houston.

The Texas Department of Public Safety on Wednesday announced that information submitted to the agency led to the arrest of 30-year-old Christopher Barbontin Soloya Jr.

DPS says a $3,000 reward will be paid to the person who provided information that helped officers arrest Soloya in northwest Houston on July 21. Soloya was wanted for parole violation and failure to comply with sex offender registration requirements.

The Houston Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Service Gulf Coast Violent Offender Task Force assisted the DPS Criminal Investigations Division in its investigation. Soloya's last known address was in Houston.

Records show Soloya in June 2007 was arrested by Houston police and convicted of burglary of a habitation with intent to commit sexual assault.

Soloya was sent to prison and then released on paroled in March 2015. He was required to register as a sex offender but failed to comply.
