Teen dies in Pasadena house fire

Early Saturday morning, the Pasadena Fire Department got a call that a home off Randal Street was on fire.

A grandmother was able to escape carefully, we're told a mother jumped out of a second story window, but her daughter Alma Adame, 17, died in the fire.

"I actually had, we had a PHS pageant scheduled today and my teacher text me this morning telling me that they had canceled it because Alma had passed away," says Saul Cisneros who came by a memorial outside of the home to pay respects for his classmate.

Family and friends gathered for candlelight vigil at a park across from the high school on Saturday to grieve the loss of Adame.

"Whenever I talked to her she was sweet, she was funny and she was always willing to listen," recalls Jordan Richmond.

"Alma was a very bright generous and loving individual, always willing to help, very supportive and we're really going to miss her", says Michael Taylor, who was Adame's assistant choir director for more than three years.

A GoFundMe page has been established to help the family pay for funeral expenses. If you would like more information on that, click here.
