13-year-old arrested after leading officers on high-speed chase in NE Harris County

An overnight high-speed chase landed the driver in jail, and the driver was just 13-years old. Last night, a deputy on Mount Houston in northeast Harris County caught the driver going 60 in a 30 and tried to pull him over, but the teen kept going.

The teen driver refused and then led deputies on a chase, reaching 100 mph per hour down 59 and into downtown Houston where the driver had an accident and was taken into custody.  A deputy was hurt in a crash during the chase. The deputy sustained non-life threatening injuries, but the person he crashed into was taken to the hospital as a precaution.

It turns out the car the teen was driving was reported stolen.
