13 arrests in sex crimes involving children

An operation conducted by the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office and other agencies in the Houston Metro Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force has resulted in 13 arrests with 26 felony charges and one misdemeanor charge filed. Eight search warrants have also been completed in the cases. The arrests took place between Nov. 5 and Nov. 20. Task force agents communicated with suspects using social media websites that are accessible to adults as well as children. By communicating with suspects online, officers were able to direct suspects attempting to engage in sexual contact with children to another location where officers were waiting to place the suspects under arrest. All of people arrested were men.
