Crime Stoppers increases reward to $10,000 in Deputy ambush

- UPDATE (6/2/15): Deputy Constable Alden Clopton's son made the following statement stating that his father is back home although he still has a long road of recovery ahead of him. 

"After 6 weeks of hospitalization I'm glad to say my dad is finally back home." said Todre Clopton via social media. "Although he has a long road of recovery ahead of him, it's nothing shy of a miracle. To God be the glory...for the things he has done!"

Deputy Clopton's shooter still hasn't been caught.

Announcing, an increased reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the charging and/or arrest of the suspect(s) responsible for the ambush attack of Harris County Precinct 7 Deputy Constable Alden Clopton.

This increased reward is available through the Crime Stoppers' Fallen Hero Project which protects, defends and gives back to the heroes of the Houston community who keep Houston safe where our citizens live, learn, work and play. The Fallen Hero Project provides unprecedented protections for peace officers and fire fighters to ensure their safety as they serve the citizens of the Houston Metropolitan Area. 

In the event that an officer or fire fighter is injured of killed in the line of duty, as the result of felonious crime, Crime Stoppers' anonymous cash reward of up to $5,000 will double to $10,000 thanks to the generous support of the 100 Club. 

 

Since 1981, Crime Stoppers of Houston has operated the famed tip line, 713-222-TIPS.  Known as a world leader in crime prevention, the Crime Stoppers of Houston tip line program has paid over $10 million in cash rewards, solved over 30,000 felony cases, and arrested nearly 25,000 felony fugitives. Thanks to the generous contributions from the Houston community, the reward program has grown, now offering up to $5,000 for information leading to the charging or arrest of felony suspects in Harris County.  

Staffed by officers and investigators assigned to the Crime Stoppers Law Enforcement Task Force, the tip line program monitors and processes the citizen information Crime Stoppers is famed for collecting. 

 

Officers from the Houston Police Department, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the Pasadena Police Department and the METRO Police Department are all detailed to work for the Crime Stoppers Task Force.  Each agency has joined forces with Crime Stoppers, donating the personnel vital to the operation of the tip line.
