Princess Jackson began "Sock Out Poverty" because of her fondness for socks and seeing the need in the community. About 3 years ago she was with her mother handing out blankets to the homeless when she noticed several people were barefoot.
Princess came up with the idea to raise donations which would cover the needs of men, women, boys, and girls who were in need of a new pair(s) of socks. Her goal is to reduce poverty and provide socks for the less fortunate, therefore Socking Out Poverty one step at a time. Her mother, obviously proud of her daughter's efforts helped set up the non profit organization
Earlier this year Princess was recognized by the City of Houston for her efforts.
