HOUSTON (FOX 26) - A moment of silence followed by a prayer and meditation vigil took place at Rothko Chapel this afternoon.
Dozens of people came to pay their respects and sign a book of condolences. There were also speakers from the Jewish, Christian, and Muslim communities.
Stacy Melaerts’s husband is from Belgium. For her family, these attacks were a close call, she said “his parents they are visiting us from Belgium they were actually supposed to have gone back on the day of the attacks. Luckily they did not so we're here just to support my husband's family and the Belgian community of Houston".
The event was organized by Jacques Bouchez, Honorary Consul of Belgium in Houston.
