PORTER, Texas (FOX 26) - A deputy constable says a 27-year-old man choked, struck and pushed the mother of his eight-month-old child before taking the infant with him and driving away. With help from Montgomery County Sheriff's Office deputies, Montgomery County Precinct 4 deputy constables found Jacob Hall and his vehicle at a home on Espinosa Drive in the New Caney area.
After deputy constables conducted field sobriety tests on Hall, he was arrested for assault family violence - impede breath/circulation and driving while intoxicated with child passenger. The assault is a third-degree felony and the driving while intoxicated charge is a state jail felony.
The mother of the child, who was attacked at her home on Jurua Drive in the Porter area on Wednesday night, refused to get medical treatment for her injuries.
Hall, who also had multiple outstanding Class C warrants, was taken to Montgomery County jail where he was booked. The assault charge carries a $10,000 bond and the driving while intoxicated charge carries a $5,000 bond.
