1 person shot in possible drive-by shooting in northeast Houston

Houston police are investigating a possible drive by shooting in northeast Houston.

Around 6:30 p.m., police were called to the 6100 block of Moss Oaks Drive. One person was shot and transported to the hospital.

Two vehicles were traveling on the street when someone from one of the vehicles opened fire, police say. The wounded driver ran into a fire hydrant.  The driver was transported to LBJ hospital and was last reported to be in surgery.

Police say a 6-year-old child was in the vehicle with the wounded person. The child was not hurt but was taken to the hospital to be checked out and is with relatives.
