1 death in Arcola plane crash & hangar fire

The Texas Department of Public Safety is leading the investigation into what caused a plane crash at Houston Southwest Airport in Arcola that led to one death and a hangar fire. The landing strip crash on State Highway 6 near McKeever Road was reported to the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office before 10:20 a.m. Monday.

In addition to the flight instructor who was killed in the crash, a passenger was taken by Life Flight medical helicopter to Memorial Hermann Hospital - Texas Medical Center in critical condition.

The Federal Aviation Administration is also conducting an on-site investigation.
