'Murderabilia' dealers profiting off of school shooters

“This is a macabre, despicable, insidious industry,” said crime victims advocate Andy Kahan.

It’s no secret "murderabilia" sites exist because there’s obviously a market for it.  But get this -- four of those sites have a separate category for school shooters.

“That speaks volumes to me because there’s no other categories,” Kahan said. “You don’t see categories for terrorist shooters or mass murderers or mall shooters.”

Kahan was instrumental in stopping killers in Texas from profiting from their crimes, but this scourge is nationwide and there’s no law to stop third party dealers from making money.

Dealers will sell drawings, handwritten letters, even signed envelopes -- not because they belonged to movie stars or athletes, but school shooters.

“And the only reason they’re given this infamy and immortality is because of the horrific acts that they chose to do by murdering other students,” said Kahan.

The crime victims advocate says it’s only a matter of time before these dealers approach Santa Fe High School shooter Demitrious Pagourtzis.

“It’s not when. It’s going to happen,” Kahan said.

The entire murderabilia industry is troubling, but Kahan says the school shooter category is especially heinous since these dealers are giving some school shooters what they were seeking.

“Promote their name and continue to give them relevancy that they richly don’t deserve for committing these atrocities on high school students,” Kahan said.
