Suspect charged in shooting on Texas Southern University campus

MYFOXHOUSTON - Charges have been filed against a suspect in the shooting at Texas Southern University.

The suspect is Darrius Nichols, 20, and he's charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

He's accused of shooting a male and female at 3525 Blodgett about 9:40 p.m. on Wednesday (August 26).

The two victims were transported to an area hospital.  The male is in critical condition and the female was treated and released.

It happened near one of the university apartments on campus.

They are said to be the University Courtyard Apartments on Blodget.
