Louisiana Tech Bulldogs at Rice wondering what waits back home after devastating tornado

The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs were on the road when the EF-3 tornado touched down in Ruston, Louisiana early Thursday.

The campus' stadium had extensive damage.

"Our facilities took a beating, we obviously won't play another game at our home park this year," said Bulldogs coach Lane Burroughs.

The players had more on their minds than the upcoming series with the Rice University Owls. Many of them had their vehicles damaged or destroyed by the tornado.

"We actually have one of our players who is not traveling with us take a picture of everyone's car," the coach said. "Our roll out cages was actually lying on one of our guys truck.

Two residents of Ruston, Louisiana were killed when the tornado touched down.

The Rice Owls are taking up donations for the Bulldogs during their 3 game series Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
