32 rescued sea turtles released into Gulf of Mexico

On Wednesday morning, 32 rescued sea turtles were released into Gulf of Mexico after months of rehabilitation.

Dozens of people watched as the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration released the sea turtles at Steward Beach in Galveston on Wednesday morning. Later that morning, rescuers released 21 green sea turtles into Christmas Bay.

Many of the turtles released on Wednesday were provided medical care by the Houston Zoo veterinary clinic staff, who provide care to nearly 80 wild sea turtles every year.
