SUGAR LAND, Texas (FOX 26) - The 27th GiGi’s Playhouse in the U.S. will open in Sugar Land on Dec. 5. The facility, which will be located on 14015 Southwest Freeway, is a Down Syndrome Achievement Center that focuses on achievement, belief, and confidence with free therapeutic and educational programs for children, adults and their families.
The grand opening celebration will take place from 12 p.m. until 4 p.m. and guests can take advantage of tours of the playhouse, music, bounce houses and games.
GiGi's Playhouse will offer more than 30 different programs focused on specific aspects of skill development in the areas of education, social skills, speech and language skills, and fine and gross motor development.
Nancy Gianni, GiGi’s Playhouse founder and president, will be attending the grand opening event with the young girl whose namesake adorns every Playhouse location -- her daughter GiGi, who was born with Down syndrome in 2003 and is the motivation behind the creation of the facilities.
GiGi's National Achievement Center is based in Hoffman Estates, Illinois.
“Our program participants continue to change the way people view Down syndrome through their amazing self-confidence and skills,” says Nancy. “The new Grand Opening in Sugar Land will be our 26th location in North America! Attending the Grand Opening will be a wonderful and important opportunity to support our individuals and families, and also a great opportunity to learn more about the work we do. Helping children and young adults at GiGi’s Playhouse extends beyond the Down syndrome diagnosis. If you believe in a kinder and more accepting world, and believe in helping others, then GiGi’s Playhouse is the place for you.”
