Don't ride with your feet up on the dashboard, firefighters warn

Do you ever ride in the car with your feet on the dashboard? Don't. A fire department is warning that putting your feet up on the dashboard could have devastating consequences in the case of an accident.

In the case of a crash, airbags deploy at 100 to 250 MPH, the Chattanooga Fire Department says. That could send your legs flying back toward your face.

"If you ride with your feet on the dash and you're involved in an accident, the airbag may send your knees through your eye sockets," CFD wrote in a Facebook post warning the public.

That could result in injuries and fractures to your face and legs. So next time your in the car, you may want to keep your feet on the ground. Make sure to always wear your seat belt, too.
