PITTSBORO, N.C. (FOX 26) - An animal shelter in North Carolina is accepting adoption applications for a 31 pound cat, dubbed 'Mr. Handsome', who was turned in as a stray.
"Does anyone know this cat? He is 31.4 pounds! He clearly had someone feeding him but was brought in as a stray cat," the Chatham County Animal Shelter captioned a Facebook photo of the large gray cat.
The shelter said they have been unable to find his owner or anyone who recognizes him, so they are beginning to take applications for his adoption. Chatham County Animal Shelter says anyone who wants to apply must submit an application with vet references, then a drawing will be held on Thursday. If the owner comes forward, the applications will be null and void.
While Mr. Handsome waits to find his home, shelter staff are making him comfortable.
