In 1945 JS Abercrombie had a vision to create a world-class horse show to benefit the community. His vision became reality on May 26, 1945 with the sound of the trumpet heralding the opening of the Pin Oak Charity Horse Show. This tradition of excellence continues today and has culminated into a 70 year legacy of giving that will will be celebrated in 2015, March 18 - 29.

The show spans two weeks in March, with a dazzling array of horse and rider teams competing in a multi-breed equestrian extravaganza. Taking the stage are American Saddlebreds, Andalusians, Lusitanos, the classic Hunters, Olympic-level Show Jumpers, and the new discipline of Working Equitation.

Pin Oak began by benefitting Texas Children's Hospital and Pin Oak is the oldest philanthropic partner of Texas Children's with the first donation in 1947.

The giving continues today as Pin Oak has raised millions of dollars for our charities Texas Children’s Hospital,  Ronald McDonald Family Rooms and Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Family Alliance.
