Cafeza in historic First Ward of Houston
HOUSTON (FOX 26) - Ryan and Keisha Hazen moved into the historic First Ward of Houston several years ago. From the moment they arrived, they wished that there was a coffee shop in the neighborhood.
The solar energy expert and the geologist created Cafeza, the first coffee shop near the intersection of Houston and Washington avenues. Transforming a former tattoo removal facility into a restaurant was no easy task. The cafe opened on Sept. 10.
During a visit to Cafeza, FOX 26 News contributor Cleverley Stone meets Chef Ivan Ortiz who demonstrates how to make churros at home and how to prepare spinach & grilled pears salad with arugula, toasted walnuts, goat cheese and Champagne vinaigrette. The owners describe the concept and space of the restaurant.
