HOUSTON (FOX 26) - A San Antonio baby with a rare medical condition is now in Houston receiving life-saving treatment.
Three-month-old Ja'bari Gray was born missing skin from the neck down and with a severely damaged airway.
Doctors say his chances of survival were very low and even suggested taking him off of life support, but the family refused.
Instead, his mother requested a transfer to Texas Children’s Hospital here in Houston.
Medicare initially denied it because the hospital was out of network, but the insurance provider eventually changed its mind and decided to approve it.
Baby Ja'bari was flown into Houston Friday evening.
