'Harry' premieres on FOX 26 in September

- One supremely-talented musician is shaking up daytime TV! Harry Connick Jr., who made a splash as one of the final "American Idol" judges, performed in Houston as part of his concert tour. His lifelong love affair with music, his career in Hollywood and his acclaimed Broadway compositions have all led to this moment, to his own slice of the FOX TV empire.

After decades of delighting people with his music and acting, Connick is now joining daytime television with an entertainment show simply called "Harry" and he promises spontaneity and a show like you've never seen before.

“We built this show based on all the things that I love to do, so if we're talking on set one day and I feel like playing some music, we're just going to play some music,” said Harry Connick Jr. “Or if someone in the audience wants to be a part of something, it's just going to feel very relaxed.”

It helps that he was a child prodigy.

Throw any instrument at him, and chances are, he'll stun you with what he can freestyle, and that's pretty much how his show will play. So say goodbye to daytime TV because Harry will bring some of that late-night edge into that sunny spotlight.

"A lot of the people who go to bed too early to watch a lot of the shows on TV at night are going to have the party sort of brought right to them in the middle of the day,” said Connick Jr. “And I'll have my band there with me. We're going to be playing live music. It's going to be unscripted. It's going to be spontaneous…because it is.”

The countdown clock is ticking at FOX 26 in Houston for the "Harry" premiere in September.
