HOUSTON (FOX 26) - The 30th season of ScreamWorld opens on Friday, Sept. 21 for the next several weekends until Nov. 3. Phobia Haunted Houses opens on Saturday, Sept. 29 for the following five weekends until Nov. 3.
4.5-acre ScreamWorld features a 120-person "terror team," three haunted houses, an outdoor maze, a graveyard and the Vortex Tunnel. It is located at 2225 N. Sam Houston Parkway West (Beltway 8), between Ella and T.C. Jester, 1.5 miles west of I-45. Hours for the temple of terror are Thursday through Sunday dates 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays from 8 p.m. to midnight; and Halloween night 7:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. ScreamWorld is open September 21-23 and 28-30; October 4-7, 11-14, 18-21 and 23-31; and November 2-3. Phobia Haunted Houses has operated since 1996. It will launch a grand opening on Sept. 29 on 5250 South Sam Houston Parkway East between State Highway 288 and Interstate 45 South. It features eight separate freestanding haunted attractions.
