Beyonce concert draws fans, protesters to NRG Park

- While thousands of Beyonce's fans flocked to NRG Stadium for the Formation tour, her supporters and critics gathered outside in dueling demonstrations. The protest and counter-protest stem from the pop diva's Super Bowl 50 performance and music video for her hit song "Formation."

Members of the Coalition of Police and Sheriffs, or C.O.P.S., believe that the video was anti-police and that her Super Bowl performance honored the Black Panthers. In response to this protest, members of the Nation of Islam stood outside NRG Park in support of Beyoncé and her right to express her feelings through her music. Members of C.O.P.S. are not connected to the Houston Police Officers Union. The president of HPOU assured FOX 26 News that his organization has no issue with Beyoncé performing in Houston and that officers were happy to work at the event.

Beyoncé announced that she's adding a second show in Houston for her Formation tour on Sept. 22. FOX 26 has not learned if the same two groups will gather in protest and counter-protest for that concert.
