HOUSTON (FOX 26) - The AAA Five Diamond rating is one of the greatest honors a hotel can receive. The Post Oak Hotel at Uptown Houston was awarded this honor in just its first six months open to the public. It is the only one in the Houston area and only the second one in Texas to get that rating. More than 27,000 hotels are reviewed for this rating but only 0.4 percent of them make the Five Diamond list.
The ten-acre property is owned by billionaire Tilman Fertitta, who also owns the Houston Rockets, Landry’s, Inc., five casinos and more hotels.
Plenty of dining options within the hotel ensure that you never have to leave, with such options as Mastro's Steakhouse and Willie G‘s Seafood. With a very pedestrian-friendly environment, guests and visitors can simply walk on over to the next destination, whether it be the salon, the two-story Rolls Royce showroom or the beautiful saltwater pool. Cabanas are available for daytime rental for guests at a rate of $500 and if you’re not a guest, you can rent them for the evening for $300. There are many things that you can enjoy even if you don’t book a standard room.
For approximately $12,000 per night, you can stay in The Presidential Suite, which includes direct helicopter pad access.
