HOUSTON (FOX 26) - The NFL preseason is officially underway and for the first time ever, two male cheerleaders will be dancing alongside women on a professional NFL cheerleading squad.
Quinton Peron and Napoleon Jinnies have joined the Los Angeles Rams cheerleading team. Both men are classically-trained dancers from California and made it through an extensive audition process.
One man in Houston who knows that process all too well. I first saw Donnie Johnson dance when I was a judge for the Houston Texans Cheerleaders tryouts. Johnson, who has been dancing since the age of 14, told me what it meant to see male cheerleaders in the NFL.
