Radio One – Houston’s 97.9 The Box, Majic 102.1, and 92.1 Radio Now announce their
inaugural “Opportunity Expo” (Opp Ex) career development and recruitment fair to meet
the needs of Houston employers and job seekers Saturday, March 9, 2019 at the George
R. Brown Convention Center. The fair will include panel discussions, intimate workshops,
and networking sessions.
“Our goal is to build a bridge to opportunity and success,” says Pamela McKay, Radio
One-Houston Vice President/ General Manager. “We want to use our platform to contribute
to the many efforts like Mayor Turner’s Turnaround Houston initiative to address barriers to
employment and inspire confidence among employers committed to hiring local talent.”
Attendees will have opportunities to hear from business executives, local officials, and career
coaches offering solutions and guidance on topics such as: entrepreneurship; building a
professional image and managing your digital brand; tips on pursuing careers in the music
industry; navigating employment with a criminal record; and more.
Employers representing both large and small companies will be able to meet qualified
candidates that they can consider for open positions, and network with their fellow
corporations who are eager to help build a better Houston by offering employment opportunities.
