At the annual Texas Lunar Festival, they celebrate the impressive qualities of every culture while celebrating the Asian Lunar New Year. This Chinese New Year’s celebration is the largest celebration by the Chinese community in the South Central United States.
For the past 22 years, the festival has been celebrating the city of Houston's diverse cultures and their performers. This event is truly one of a kind, family-oriented festival that attracts large numbers of people from every ethnic group. Festival offerings include a series of displays, food booths, entertainment, acrobats, lion's dancers, martial arts demonstrations, carnival rides, games and door prizes of all kinds. Promoters of this event include: Southern News Group, Chinese News Years Festival Inc., International Trade Center, International Management District and Southern Chinese Daily News.
