Stephen Morgan | Reporter & Meteorologist

Stephen Morgan joined the FOX 26 News team in July 2017 as a reporter.

Stephen is excited to call Texas home after working at FOX 5 KRBK in Springfield, Missouri for over 4 years. While in Springfield, Stephen anchored the evening newscasts, reported and even forecast the weather. Stephen earned a degree in meteorology from Saint Louis University before beginning his news career in 2013.

Originally from Maryville, Illinois (just east of St. Louis), Stephen loves to travel and has been all over the world from Juarez, Mexico to Germany, Italy and Bulgaria. Stephen’s most memorable trip, however, was to Israel where he took part in an archeological dig.

As a reporter in Springfield, Stephen covered high-profile criminal cases from the tragic kidnapping and murder of 10-year-old Hailey Owens to the twisted killing of Clauddinnea 'Dee Dee' Blanchard by her daughter, Gypsy, and estranged boyfriend Nicholas Godejohn. HBO documentaries even took notice of the murder, releasing "Mommy Dead and Dearest."

Stephen has also sat down and interviewed political leaders like 2016 presidential candidates Bernie Sanders, Mike Huckabee and Ben Carson. And from the political landscape to geographical, Stephen revisited one of deadliest natural disasters America has seen as the five-year anniversary of the Joplin, Missouri EF5 twister was observed. The tornado killed 162 people and injured over 1,000.

In his free time, Stephen enjoys ‘The Great Outdoors’ (he likes the movie too). Whether that’s hiking, running or doing yoga; if the weather is nice, he’s outside. Even if it’s bad, he’s probably out reporting on mother nature’s fury as that’s one of his greatest passions.

Stephen is eager to hear your story! Connect with him online and say hello.
