Angela is an evening reporter and fill-in anchor for FOX 26 News. She is also the host and creator of the food segment “So We Eat On.” She hosts the public affairs segment “The Asian Connection.”
When Angela was a young girl, she wore red, heavy glasses and always had her nose buried in a book. Her love of the written word eventually led her to journalism (and probably her myopia), and it’s what has shaped her life.
Angela graduated from University of California San Diego with degrees in literature, writing and psychology. Her first job was at KUSI’s morning show in San Diego, where she worked as a news writer and associate producer. After that, she earned a Master of Science from Columbia University’s Journalism School in New York City and went on to become a reporter for NY1 News. While she was there, some of her top stories included the destruction caused by Hurricane Sandy, the aftermath of Private Danny Chen's death and former Congressman Anthony Weiner's indiscretions.
However, after a couple years, she left the Big Apple and headed home to Los Angeles to help care for her father after he was diagnosed with aggressive brain cancer. While at home, she worked in Bakersfield for KBAK/KBFX and for XETV San Diego 6 News. She was also a morning reporter at KOLO-TV in Reno. She is a former contributor to The New York Times and worked at KTRK-TV before moving to KRIV-TV.
She is the winner of the 2014 N.S. Bienstock fellowship and a 2016 recipient of the RIAS German/American Exchange fellowship.
Angela has lived in London and Taipei. She is fluent in Mandarin and is a certified scuba diver. She is the National Board representative of the Texas Chapter of the Asian American Journalists Association and is an alumna of Pi Beta Phi. She also loves the FOX TV show "The Simpsons" and is on a perpetual search for the perfect burrito.
